Thank you :)
I should have taken these pics either in the evening or in the morning light. I took these in the afternoon. Because of that, The pics are not crispy and with lot of brightness.

first capture gave a divine feel... good work. you are right about brightness. its b'coz of the colour yellow, I feel.

Which cam do you use?

The first picture is excellent. The composition is nice and the afternoon light actually helps the picture. The second one is not exactly outstanding but as you said, its due to lot of brightness. It would've been better to underexpose it a bit, perhaps by two stops.

Thank you Mohana.

I used to take pics with Canon Rebel DSLR. I bought Sony DSC-W230 (cybershot camera) recently and experimenting with it. These pics taken with Sony.

Thank you for the suggestions Prashanth. Sure will try to reduce the brightness and use underexposure next time.

I guess the problem was not exposure but the high contrast light. Reminds me a tip I saw in one of John Shaw's articles, he said if he had to shoot at noon, he would try to hold a cardboard or black umbrella or his hat above the flower. By cutting the intensity of light, the contrast is reduced and soft even lighting yields a more pleasing picture.
